Stuart’s journey as a cinematographer and visual storyteller began in 1989 in regional Victoria. He has built a thriving career in the years since, and his dedication to story, told through the lens, has been constant. Skills gathered across multiple disciplines including editing, writing and colour grading have served to greatly enhance Stuart’s ability to communicate powerful messages via the medium.

 

For all creative people, being sensitive to the emotional core of the story is vital to serve the narrative faithfully. Stuart’s awareness of narrative, combined with broad technical knowledge, enables him to tell the story the way it should be told. His skills are highly versatile and he has extensive experience across all formats from commercials/promos, reality television, to longer form documentary and factual.

 

Modern film and media demands a broad range of skills and experience. Stuart has garnered a high degree of skill across varying systems including cameras from Red, Arri, Sony, Canon and Black Magic Design; image grading with Da Vinci Resolve and Adobe Light Room; and edit platforms from Avid, Da Vinci Resolve, FCP, and Adobe Premier.

Stuart is a CASA accredited drone pilot, holding a current Remote Pilot Licence (RePL), AROC and Remote Operator Certificate (ReOC).
